Non-Traumatic Lower Extremity Associated Sports Injuries

Following the completion of this lecture, the participant will be able to:

  • Review etiology, pathophysiology of non-traumatic lower extremity injuries including lower leg, heel, and foot pathologies
  • Understand common risk factors associated with each pathology
  • Discussion of physical examine findings, diagnostic imaging that differentiate these injuries
  • Recall and discuss treatment options for management, potential resolution of symptoms
  • Analyze associated injuries that may occur with these conditions.

Jason Moore, MD

Dr. Jason Richardson Moore received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2023 and is currently a Family Medicine resident at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, where he brings a passion for primary care, community service, and patient advocacy. Dr. Moore has extensive volunteer experience, including work with KEEN Greater DC, the New Freedmen’s Clinic, and various community outreach programs. His clinical and leadership experience includes serving as Treasurer for Howard’s PM&R Interest Group and participating in the NFL Diversity in Sports Medicine Pipeline Initiative. He has delivered multiple academic presentations on topics ranging from trauma management to neurological disorders. Dr. Moore is known for his strong interpersonal skills, dedication to underserved populations, and team-oriented mindset. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. Disclosures: None

Abraham Hardee, DO, PhD

Dr. Hardee earned his medical degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg Va. He continued his education at Geisinger Medical Center and Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery in Family Medicine. Dr. Hardee is extremely passionate about community advocacy and the effects of strong physician lead support for the improvement in healthcare for Southwest Virginians. He has also spent extensive time practicing medicine in Central America, and ultimately earned his PhD in International Health Education. With a focus on osteopathic manipulation on a naive population in order evaluate corrective structure and stance. Disclosures: None
