Learning Objectives
A graduate of Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame, Dr. Mitchell obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI. Dr. Mitchell completed her fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine/Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
Dr. Mitchell is board certified in Family Medicine and board eligible in Sports Medicine. She received first at the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine Clinical Conference Research Presentation Podium and has been named a junior chief resident, and chief resident, in the past. Dr. Mitchell has a special interest in musculoskeletal injury evaluation and treatment, ultrasound guided joint injections and osteopathic manipulation. Known for being a kind person and good listener, Dr. Mitchell is extremely compassionate, loves getting to know her patients and enjoys a good laugh with them.

Dr. Patrick Ryan graduated from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Virginia Campus and then went on to complete his family medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in Kenner, LA. After completing his residency, he moved back to Blacksburg where he is currently completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at VCOM/Virginia Tech. Dr. Ryan is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
