First presented at the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association 2022 Virtual Mid year Seminar. FOMA is proud to offer this on-demand CME program as Sean McCann, DO presents a valuable lecture on Nutrition and how to prescribe advise to your patients. 

Learning objectives:
  • Explain the current dietary guidelines for Americans, their limitations and their rationale.
  • Identify the major micro/macro nutrients found in foods
  • Identify the most common nutritional deficiencies and excesses in common American diets and how they contribute to disease
  • Demonstrate the ability to write a nutrition prescription for a variety of patients and disease states.

Sean McCann, DO

Sean McCann, DO earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Nova Southeastern University. He completed his residency and internship in family medicine at Florida Hospital East Orlando, where he also served as chief resident.  Dr. McCann is a board-certified family medicine physician and a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He currently works at Lakeland Regional Health as the Founding Program Director for the Family Medicine Residency as well as the director of student medical education. He previously served as core faculty at Advent Health East Orlando’s Family Medicine Residency Program, the team physician for the Orlando Solar Bears ECHL hockey team, and as a primary care physician at the Orlando VA medical center.
