Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest


First presented at the 2021 Virtual Osteopathic Conference, OPSO is pleased to offer this presentation as an on-demand CME seminar. 

In this presentation Dr. Lehrfeld will address these objectives:

  • Understand the physiology and epidemiology of OHCA
  • Learn why EMS alone will not save you
  • What you can do to build a chain of survival
  • What works and what doesn’t
  • What to do with the “mostly dead?”

The Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

David Lehrfeld, MD

Dr. David Lehrfeld is an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Physician. He is interested in regionalized systems of care and using data to drive practice. He started his medical career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 1990 and has worked as an EMT, Paramedic, and Physician in the military and civilian world. He is currently the Medical Director for EMS and Trauma for the State of Oregon and works in the VA Hospital on the weekends. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Lehrfeld is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Lehrfeld discloses that he has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of this presentation.
