Medical Cannabis A Pharmacists Perspective

The West Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association (WVOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

Richard Greer, PharmD

Richard E. Greer, BS, PharmD, RPh graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. While completing his doctorate, Dr. Greer served as class president for 4 years, was a member of the prestigious Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and served on numerous student advisory committees. As a clinical medical marijuana pharmacist, Dr. Greer strategically implements his pharmaceutical expertise and medical marijuana industry experience working directly with patients and pharmacists to create a comfortable dispensary environment. Dr. Greer serves as the Pharmacy Director for Solevo Wellness, a multi-dispensary company based in Pittsburgh, PA where he is responsible for the smooth operation of the pharmacy department. Dr. Greer is an active member of the International Society of Cannabis Pharmacists (ISCPh) on the finance committee, a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Pain Society, a study leader at Carnegie Mellon University, and a member of Doctors for Cannabis Regulation. In addition to his director duties, Dr. Greer is a sought-after speaker and educator who has spoken at multiple universities, medical societies, hospitals, and healthcare organizations. Dr. Greer’s professional experiences include implementing clinical protocols, patient counseling, management, education and training, multidisciplinary clinical outreach, and advocacy.

 

After time spent in both long-term care, clinical, and community pharmacy, Dr. Greer was drawn to the innovation that medical marijuana presents. He is excited for the opportunity to provide groundbreaking advancements in patient care and help pioneer this important progressive medical movement. He believes strongly in advocating for the rights of his patients to receive the best pharmacological treatment right here in Pennsylvania. He is licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of State to practice pharmacy and is a certified medical marijuana practitioner through the Department of Health. Dr. Greer is an expert in the pharmaceutical field who strives to provide the most comprehensive care available to achieve the best health outcomes!
