The Low Down on Low Back Pain
Learning Objectives:
Following completion of this program, attendees shall be able to:
1. Translate the evidence for the management of acute and chronic low back pain into clinical practice.
2. List the limitations and discrepancies of current evidence and guidelines in the management of low back pain.
3. Develop and evaluate evidence-based management strategies for acute and chronic back pain, with an emphasis on personalized treatment plans based on patient characteristics and preferences.
The South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Buelt completed his family medicine residency at St. Petersburg General Hospital in Florida. Currently he works as a Hospitalist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Bay Pines, Fl and has worked as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine.
Dr. Buelt has left an indelible mark on the medical landscape. His extensive contributions include serving as medical editor for primary care reviews and perspectives, Right on Prime and Emergency Medicine Reviews and Perspectives to help record and produce over a 100 hours of continuous medical education.
A pivotal figure in shaping medical guidelines, Dr. Buelt co-authored guidelines on Dyslipidemia, Headaches, COPD, low back pain, and depression for the Veteran Affairs and Department of Defense. His prolific work extends to numerous Practice Guideline reviews in the Journal of American Family Physician. Beyond his written contributions, Dr. Buelt co-founded the globally recognized Questioning Medicine podcast, earning a spot on the American Family Physician list of "25 Podcast Episodes Every Family Physician Should Listen To." Dr. Buelt stands as a top-tier speaker, sharing unparalleled insights and expertise.
