This lecture presents knowledge on every level of education in the audience because it offers a review of basic lumbisacropelvic OMT as well as clinical relevance in the OB GYN field.   This is important for the brave allopathic/ MD colleagues in the audience who are attending this osteopathic conference.  The information is grounded by the writings of the late AT Still and describes osteopathic considerations in the postpartum patient.  The delivering provider is typically the one who sees the postpartum OB patient without paying attention to her musculoskeletal system.   This is an opportunity for OBGYNs and family practice residents to reach a common ground need in the OBGYN population.  FP residents in the audience with OBGYN requirements  benefit from learning how to utilize OMT in the OB GYN field.   Lastly, the maternal mortality rate in this country is appallingly too high,  especially in marginalized populations.  OMT brings "the healer" role back into the hands of the physician (pun intended) back into the OBGYN field instead of creating scientific evidence based scientists, surgeons.

Learning Objectives:

• Participants will review goals of OMT in postpartum patient per 4 Tenets of osteopathic medicine
• 4th Trimester OMT to prevent postpartum depression, help lactation, assist delivery recovery
• Participants will learn a rapid Osteopathic Structural Exam (OSE) (lumbar, pelvic , sacrum diagnosis review) and OMT clinical application
• Basic Lumbo-sacral-Pelvic mechanics and OMT for boards
• Participant will learn rapid techniques: MFR, FPR, Still for pelvic, pubes and sacrum
