Novel non-pharmacological treatments for chronic pain


Following completion, attendees of the CME program should be able to:

1 - Describe the scientific basis for regenerative therapy injections in tissue healing
2- Differentiate between appropriate indications for platelet rich plasma, platelet lysate, and bone marrow concentrate injections
3 - Understand how grown factors impact tissue healing
4 - Know which autologous otrhobiologic has the best evidence for improving tissue healing

Dr. Russo discloses that he has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of his presentation.

The Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

David Russo, DO
Dr. Russo is a dual board-certified physical medicine, rehabilitation, and pain management specialist. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley followed by medical school and graduate degrees in Public Health and Clinical Research and Education at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He continued his graduate medical education and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota followed by a fellowship in pain management at the Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Russo is an expert in pain treatment and regenerative therapies for musculoskeletal conditions. He is a medico-legal adviser and technical consultant in areas of risk management, peer review, clinical toxicology, and organizational development.
