Fracture Nomenclature and Splinting


Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss fracture nomenclature.
  • Evaluate fractures.
  • Properly splint common fractures.

Accreditation: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The Minnesota Osteopathic Medical Society (MOMS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

Troy Erickson, D.O.

Troy Erickson, DO, graduated from medical school at KCOM in Kirksville, Missouri, now called AT Still University.  He completed a traditional internship at Detroit Riverview in Detroit, MI, and an orthopedic residency at St. John Oakland in Madison Heights, MI, a suburb of Detroit.  

Dr. Erickson is presently working for Sanford Health Systems in Thief River Falls as a general orthopedic Surgeon.  He is active in many professional societies for orthopedics to include being an examiner for the AOBOS.
