

We are taught in osteopathic medical school that a person is a combination of the body, mind, and spirit, and that dysfunction in any one category can cause problems in the others. What if what we thought of as mental, emotional, and spiritual dysfunction was only the tip of the iceberg? What about the mental, emotional, and spiritual component in all of our patients that aren’t clinically depressed or anxious? We all have mental, emotional, and spiritual struggles, and these can manifest as both mental and physical disease.
