In the Primary Care outpatient setting, physicians will encounter patients with symptoms that may be related to sleep disorders. A significant portion of the population suffers from both insomnia and hypersomnia. Physicians may not have the tools or knowledge to properly evaluate these patients and perform a proper diagnostic workup. Physicians may not feel comfortable with prescribing a controlled substance as treatment related to sleep to patients and knowing about non-pharmaceutical treatments would be helpful to manage these patients. This presentation will cover many of these concerns and should improve care of patients.
