Primary Care Delivery in Maine: Challenges & Opportunities

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe current and proposed changes to MaineCare and Maine CDC funding, and their potential impacts on primary care access and public health infrastructure in Maine.
  2. Analyze how reductions in federal and state resources may increase demand for primary care services, particularly in underserved and rural populations.
  3. Summarize current challenges and opportunities facing the primary care system in Maine, including strategies being discussed for long-term systems transformation.
  4. Identify actionable advocacy strategies that clinicians can engage in to support sustained investment in public health and primary care.
    Discuss opportunities for clinicians to participate in and influence broader system reforms aimed at strengthening primary care delivery and equity.

This session is accredited for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits. Credits commensurate with participation in the session will be awarded.
