Learning Objectives:

• Describe the place of novel insulin therapies, including once-weekly basal insulin, in treating type 2 diabetes
• Identify the causes of clinical inertia in the use of basal insulin for type 2 diabetes treatment
• Examine the consequences of delaying initiation and intensification of basal insulin in eligible patients
• Develop a comprehensive treatment plan using once-weekly basal insulin, individualizing therapy to patient goals while using a shared decision-making mode

This session is accredited for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits. Credits commensurate with participation in the session will be awarded.
