Child Abuse & Human Trafficking
1 in 5 women and 1 in 13 men report having been sexually abused as a child 0=17 years. About 1 in 7 children have experiences Child abuse and neglect last year. Human trafficking is modern day slavery with 40.3 million worldwide enslaved. About 12.4 to 17.5 K are trafficked within United States. Physicians need to identify the subtle signs and presentations of Child Abuse and Human Trafficking and be aware of the resources available withing their community and nationally.

- Define human trafficking and the three components of human trafficking.
- Understand the prevalence and incidence of child abuse and human trafficking in the United States and internationally
- Identify the myths with human trafficking.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of child abuse.
- Familiarize oneself with the indicators of sex trafficking, forced labor and domestic servitude.
- Elaborate on the multidisciplinary approach to treatment and management of child abuse and human trafficking.
- Identify resources available for victims identified.
- Asses the impact of child abuse and human trafficking on adverse childhood experiences (ACE’s).
