Learning Objectives:
Explain the osteopathic philosophy and the Five Model Approach to osteopathic care.
Define and differentiate acute and chronic pain.
Discuss the osteopathic assessment of chronic pain.
Discuss the standard of care of osteopathic pain management using the five models of osteopathic care.
Using a patient case scenario, identify basic osteopathic manipulative techniques that can be utilized with ease in patients presenting with pain complaints.
Identify key research studies that include the use of OMT for chronic pain management.
