Presentation Title: Acute Rehab: When Is It the Right Choice?    Scott Cyr, DO, SFHM, FACOI

   
Session Objectives:

1. Broaden understanding of acute level rehab care.

2. Determine which patients would benefit from acute rehab 

3. Explore common diagnoses encountered in acute rehab.

As a lifelong Mainer, growing up in the small town of St. Agatha in Aroostook County, Dr. Cyr attended the University of New England for both his undergraduate and medical school education, receiving his Doctor of Osteopathy in 2002.  He went on to perform an AOA-approved intern year and residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, which he completed in 2005.  He is currently board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine.  Since 2005, he has been a practicing hospitalist at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, were he also has served as the Medical Director of Acute Rehabilitation since 2018.  He has been recognized as a Senior Fellow by the Society of Hospital Medicine, along as a Fellow by the American College of Osteopathic Internists.  Dr. Cyr currently resides in the town of Minot with his wife, Jennifer, and their 3 sons.
