This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

Karen J. Nichols, DO, MA, MACOI, CS is a graduate of the Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM) with a DO degree, Dr. Nichols holds a Master’s degree in Management with a specialty in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. She has dedicated her career to advancing osteopathic medical education through outstanding leadership. Dr. Nichols  was the first woman to serve as the president of AOMA, AOA, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. She was recently elected Vice Chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Trustees and as Chair of the United Federation of Osteopathic Societies (UFOS), a coalition of forty smaller state societies, the District of Columbia, and the Military. Dr. Nichols recently retired from her position as Dean of Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, serving from 2002 to 2018.
