In this presentation, Dr. Higgins will discuss appropriate thyroid laboratory testing and how to construct a treatment plan based on testing and symptomatology.   He will also go over how to discriminate between false positive and false negative testing.  His overall goal for this presentation is to improve thyroid disease diagnosis and treatment.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS)  is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Dr. Dustin Higgins was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. He is the seventh of nine children. He went to college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and then to medical school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. He was trained in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis and then completed a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He currently practices in Quincy, Illinois as the only Endocrinologist in his group. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He enjoys fishing and pond swimming with his wife and six boys.

"This was an interesting learning activity and very thought provoking. Dr. Davenport-Kubonic handled a challenging subject matter very well. So much we all don't know and haven't thought about in this realm. Thanks for including it in the Simply CME event."
