OMT Billing and Coding Update

This lecture will provide the attendee with an update on time based billing for outpatient visits as well as the documentation strategies needed to successfully bill for OMT services in the outpatient setting.

Learning Objectives 

• Describe the latest CPT guidelines for billing and coding for outpatient office visits based upon time.
• Describe the documentation components necessary to justify billing for the office visit and OMT CPT codes on the same day. 
• Recall when to apply the -25 modifier when billing and coding for OMT.

The NC Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Medical Association to provide continuing medical education to physicians.  NCOMA designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credit and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.
