Katherine E. Galluzzi, DO, CMD, FACOFP dist., FCPP,Palliative Care in the Age of COVID-19,” is professor and chair of the geriatric medicine department and director of comprehensive care at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is also medical director of VNA Hospice of Philadelphia and Haven Behavioral Health in Philadelphia. Dr. Galluzzi is a graduate of Goucher College in Towson, Maryland; Concord College in Athens, West Virginia; and a 1984 graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. She completed an internship at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals - University Medical Center in Stratford, New Jersey, and a family practice residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Osteopathic Medicine. She also completed a clinical fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for the Study of Aging in Philadelphia, and a faculty development fellowship at Temple University School of Medicine’s department of family medicine and community health. Board certified in family medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine, geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine, Dr. Galluzzi is also certified in long-term care by the American Medical Directors Association. A distinguished fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and a fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, she is past president of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society and the Delaware Valley Geriatric Society. Chair of the board of directors for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Dr. Galluzzi is a member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the American Geriatrics Society, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Association of Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs and the Pennsylvania Medical Directors Association.
