Learning Objectives:

- Understand the biologic basis of addiction

- Understand neurotransmitter and neural networks in addiction

- Understand how current treatment trends work towards the above

Program grievances will be presented to the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association Board of Trustees and dealt with appropriately. If this action did not resolve the problem to satisfaction, the person with the grievance will be directed to the American Osteopathic Association’s Division of Continuing Medical Education.

The OOA is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

Jason L. Beaman, DO, MS, MPH, FAPA Related Seminars and Products


Jason L. Beaman, DO, MS, MPH, FAPA, graduated medical school from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in 2007. He then completed two simultaneous residencies in Psychiatry and Family Medicine. After residency, Dr. Beaman completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds board certification in Family Medicine, Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. After Fellowship Dr. Beaman completed a Master’s Degree in Pharmacology with an emphasis in Forensics at the University of Florida. He recently obtained a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Beaman currently serves as the Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. He provides clinical psychiatric consults at OSU Medical Center and performs private forensic evaluations and consulting.

LeRoy E Young, DO, FAOCOPM dist. Related Seminars and Products


LeRoy E. Young, DO, FAOCOPM dist., is a certified occupational and preventive medicine specialist in Oklahoma City. A graduate of the Kansas City University of Biomedical Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Young is a past OOA presidents and serves on various bureau and committees of the OOA; most notably as Chair of Bureau on Legislation and Chair of OOPAC. He currently serves as Board of Trustees member for the Oklahoma Educational Foundation for Osteopathic Medicine and is President of the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners. Dr. Young is Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs for the Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City College of Osteopathic Medicine
