In this session, providers will learn more about the prevention, types, stages, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, the latest treatment, and surgery options for congestive heart failure.
   
Learning Objectives:
• Review goal-directed medical therapy for the treatment of heart failure.
• Discuss newer therapies/additions to goal-directed medical therapy, including Entresto and Ivabradine.
• Review diastolic and right-sided heart failure types.
• Review non-pharmacologic and device therapies for congestive heart failure.
• Discuss end-of-life care for patients with congestive heart failure.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Grievance Policy:

Dr. Coats received his DO degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.  He has also completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Missouri Columbia and Interventional Cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.  Dr. Coats is in practice at Central Missouri Cardiology in Jefferson City, Missouri.  He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Coats is board certified in Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine/Interventional Cardiology and in Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Medicine by the American Board of Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Medicine.
