Matthew Tyler, AVDA
Matthew Tyler is a Violence Prevention Educator with Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA). Originally from Upstate NY, he moved to south Florida in 2004. Matt received his Bachelor degree in Social Sciences from Florida Atlantic University. He spent four years in behavioral health and professional medical training. Matt has nine years’ experience of professional instruction and facilitation. Through the Dept. of Justice’s office of Violence Against Women, Matt has worked specifically around engaging men and boys to prevent violence against woman and children. Matt has worked and trained with national organizations leading the work to end dating and domestic violence. He has spent the last seven years as a project coordinator, facilitating professional and community trainings. He organizes community action events, develops trainings and campaign materials with a focus on public health prevention and youth development.
