Short Description:
Research confirms that trauma is pervasive among professionals and patients. Traumatic events can dysregulate the stress response system and be associated with psychiatric and physical disorders. When a patient has a trauma history, but it is not addressed, it may explain why medical conditions remain refractory. Additionally, health care services and clinical medicine can be retraumatizing and may cause some patients not to engage in needed health care. Thus, it is important for physicians to become trauma informed: understand the role trauma plays in their patients’ lives, know how to screen for it, how to respond to it and when to refer, as well as be aware of evidenced based treatments.

Lauren Manaker, MS, RD, LD, CLEC
Short Description:
In 2019, 73 million Americans - about 1 in 5 - were under age 18. This important population has unique nutrition needs that differ from adults, thanks to their growing bodies and increased demands. The latest Dietary Guidelines for Americans included nutritional guidance for infants, children, and adolescents for the first time, reinforcing how vital good nutrition is during these stages of rapid growth and development and providing a compass for practitioners to best care for this younger generation. In this webinar, registered dietitian nutritionist and author, Lauren Manaker, MS, RDN, LDN, CLEC, will shed light on the most recent guidelines, uncover key nutrients for these stages, and arm physicians with practical tips and messages to communicate to patients/caregivers.

Short Description:
• Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia • 2022: 6.5 million in US > 65 y/o • 2022: 73% of AD > 75 y/o • 5th leading cause of death in people > 65 y/o • Once diagnostic criteria for dementia is met the brain is already severely compromised with billions of neurons lost and no treatment known reverses this. Therefore, the greatest impact on this disease is in prevention strategies. • Current treatment options are on symptom management not disease prevention • This presentation will describe AD, documenting known neuropathogenic cascades, linking them with environmental and lifestyle factors and citing outcome based studies documenting lifestyle interventions that reduce risk and prevent AD
