Alzheimer’s disease continuum is a progression of symptoms that includes the cognitively normal phase, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and various stages of Alzheimer’s dementia. Some treatment options for Alzheimer's disease include oral symptom management medications and newer anti-amyloid targeting therapies. Primary care providers can help identify patients who may benefit from anti-amyloid therapies. Imaging or newer blood-based biomarkers can help identify patients most likely to benefit. Pretreatment evaluations can also help identify candidates with acceptable risk for adverse events.

Knee osteoarthritis is very prevalent in the US population. Approximately 20% of the population over the age of 45 has OA. Treatment for is knee OA is not perfect and many people not do not qualify for treatment secondary to medical, health or age reasons. PRP may be beneficial in certain patient populations. We have a better understanding of the mechanism involved with PRP and there are multiple conflicting randomized controlled trials. Physicians should be aware of all possible options for patients.
