This session examines the role of FAA Aero Medical Examiners in pilot medical exams and how osteopathic physicians can become AMEs. It will also cover the AOPA Basic Medical Exam, its eligibility, and why pilots might choose it over FAA exams. The session highlights the impact of this exam on general aviation and its correlation with aviation safety.

Statement of Accreditation
The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. TOMA designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
