1. How to prescribe GLP-1 in your practice (dosing guidelines, getting authorization).
2. Assess weight regain with cessation of GLP-1. Should these be life long?
3. Assess obesity /overweight as it pertains to different demographic groups.
4. Determine candidates for pharmacologic and/or surgical treatment.
5. Justify obesity/overweight as a chronic condition that requires longitudinal surveillance and management.
6. Outline insurance requirements for GLP-1 therapy (Medicare and commercial plans).

Dr. Ernst studied osteopathic medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, then went on to complete Internal Medicine training at the University of Kansas. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, and currently working on certification in Culinary Medicine. She practices as a primary care physician and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Midwestern University.
Dr. Kimberly Klatt is dual board-certified in family medicine and obesity medicine. She is passionate about helping her patients optimize their metabolic health in a way that suits their needs and lifestyle. Patient education is a focal point of her practice, and she encourages her patients to be active participants in their healthcare journey.
Dr. Ryan Pinnell is a board-certified, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Pinnell earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology, and his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and surgical residency at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in the Department of General Surgery. He went on to complete his fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at Banner Gateway Medical Center. Dr. Pinnell enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three daughters. He loves traveling, woodworking, and everything Arizona sports related.
