Description

First presented at the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association 2023 Convention, TOMA is proud to offer this on-demand CME program as Benjamin Shepard, DO reviews approaches to managing patients with acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Objectives include the following:

1. Know the most likely locations of gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

2. Understand the different presentations of upper GI hemorrhage.

3. Understand how to evaluate how quickly an endoscopy needs to be done based on presentations.

Accreditation Statement
The Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  The Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Shepard is an interventional and general gastroenterologist at Medical Specialists of North Alabama/Marshall Medical Centers. He serves as Chief of Staff-elect and President-elect of Marshall Medical Center South.
