Dr. Starsiak’s interest in osteopathic medicine started during his first osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) in his sophomore year of high school.  At the time, he had been dealing with a year and a half of low back pain that was aggravated by an acute sports injury.  He was impressed when his pain resolved for good over relatively few treatments.  He immediately began learning from the osteopathic physician he had seen for treatment.  While still in high school, he even began attending the Indiana Osteopathic Association’s OMT workshops during its continuing medical education programs.  While in college completing his pre-med prerequisite courses he practiced massage as a means to deepen his familiarity with and confidence in bodywork.  While studying at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Philadelphia, PA, he was introduced to and began practicing a broader range of osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) approaches.    In addition to running his private practice in downtown Indianapolis for the past 7 years, he has worked as adjunct faculty at the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) in Indianapolis, IN, teaching OMM to first and second year medical students for the past 6 years.
