In this session, we will review CKD definitions and management principles. Specific management principles discussions will include SGLT-2 inhibitors role in CKD , chlorthalidone’s role in CKD, using potassium binding resins, finerinone, and when it is ideal to refer to a nephrologist.

Statement of Accreditation
The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. TOMA designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Dr. Khadija Kabani is board certified in family medicine in Dallas. Dr. Kabani graduated from University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and has been in practice for 13 years. She currently practices at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
