Educational Obejctives:
Following completion of the program, participants will be able to identify patients with diabetes who could benefit from continuous glucose monitoring, prescribe and apply the device for their patients, document utility in chart notes, obtain coverage from insurance payors or direct cash paying patients to distributors, instruct patients on how to personally benefit from data obtained, bill in the office for insertions, interpretation, and clinic follow up, download the data from the CGM for clinical interpretation for medication, and life style intervention, and continued utilization for the patient and provider to mutually benefit from this real time glucose data. During the program participants will be given the opportunity to personally apply the Abbott Free Style Flash Glucose monitoring system, swipe their own personal glucose data for 14 days and take the reader home with them for personal use in their clinic.
The Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 2 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Eden Miller, DO, is an osteopathic board certified Family Practitioner, received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. Returning to the Northwest, she completed her residency in family practice at East Moreland Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Miller is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is the founder of Diabetes Nation, a non profit organization, and CEO of Diabetes and Obesity Care, where she practices in Bend, Oregon, with her husband Kevin Miller, DO. They specialize in diabetes management from diet and exercise intervention, to medication and insulin therapy, insulin pump technology and continuous glucose monitoring. Additional endocrine conditions include: Thyroid disease management, Gestational Diabetes and Osteoporosis.
