Learning Objectives:

  • Differentiate between the terms macrosomia and large-for-gestational age (LGA)
  • Discuss the limitations of ultrasound in predicting macrosomia and LGA
  • Formulate an evidence-based approach on managing patients with macrosomia or 'impending macrosomia'
  • Develop strategies that may reduce the development of macrosomia

Dr. Ouyang grew up in Minnesota and went to University of Minnesota for engineering and medical school. Dr. Ouyang attended Brigham and Women's/Massachusetts General Hospital for residency and completed a MFM fellowship at Brigham and Women's. Since 2006, Dr. Ouyang has been part of the NorthShore MFM division after fellowship. Additionally, he is a Program Director of University of Chicago/NorthShore MFM Fellowship for past 7 years and a Board Examiner for Ob/gyn.
