Description

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss what a multifunctional cardiogram (MCG) is, how the MCG was developed and what the MCG is capable of detecting.
  • Discuss why so much cardiovascular disease goes undetected and how the MCG should improve cardiovascular disease detection and outcomes. 
  • Discuss how cardiovascular disease relates to cardiovascular inflammation and how targeting the inflammatory cardiovascular disease states will improve patient’s quality and quantity of life.
  • Become more familiar with a MCG report and how to interpret the information.

Dr. Sam Fillingane, DO is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at William Carey University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Hattiesburg, MS. He is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He is a board-certified Family Practitioner who practiced in Jackson, Mississippi for nearly twenty years before joining the staff of WCUCOM.  Dr. Fillingane has been highly interested and involved in cardiovascular risk reduction for many years. He has taught numerous medical courses around the country related to improving our approach to cardiovascular disease issues.  Dr. Fillingane hosted the nationally televised program - “Straight To The Heart” - that aired on My Family TV Network, The Retro Network, and The Comcast National TV Network with 52 episodes devoted to help patients better understand cardiovascular disease.
