Learning Objectives:

  • State key elements from the Aviation Medical Assistance Act (AMAA) as it relates to providers being called upon to provide emergency care on airplanes during flight.
  • Discuss when a provider may be at legal risk for assisting someone who is ill during a flight.
  • Determine when to seek additional help during an in-flight emergency.
