Description

This presentation will discuss a sound approach to the diagnosis and management of the complex subject of hair loss in women, with attention to a strategy for diagnosis and therapy or referral. In addition, the speaker will review the current status of new biological therapies in male androgenetic alopecia.

Objectives:

  • Describe Ludwig Female Pattern Hair Loss
  • Contrast and compare the evolutionary epidemiology of male and female patterned hair loss.
  • Describe an algorithm for evaluation & women with hair loss
  • Outline the key components of the differential diagnosis in suspected FPHL

Statement of Accreditation
The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. TOMA designates is program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Carlos Puig, DO Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Carlos Puig is the founding Member of the International Society of Hair Transplant Surgery. He has had a special interest in Continuous Quality Improvement and the application of Six Sigma Principles to Hair Restoration Surgery for 48 years. He has studied with W. Edwards Deming and other authorities on this topic. 

Over the years, Dr. Puig has trained many hair transplant surgeons in hair restoration surgery, both in his internationally recognized Fellowship Training Program and at medical seminars, workshops, and surgical demonstrations. 

Dr. Puig is past president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. 

Dr. Puig discloses that he has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of this presentation.
