Immunotherapy is a relatively new treatment for cancer patients. As more patients are treated, more auto-immune side effects are being noted. Many of these side effects are being managed by primary care physicians requiring the most up-to-date education regarding treatment. This lecture will outline the different types of immunotherapy, their uses and side-effects.

Casey A. Moffa, DO, “Heme-Onc Immunotherapy: Overview for the PCP,” is an attending physician in hematology/oncology at West Penn Allegheny Oncology Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, she is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University in State College and a 2006 graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internship and internal medicine residency at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, and a hematology/oncology fellowship at West Penn Allegheny Health System.
