First presented as part of the WVOMA 2022 CME conference, we are pleased to offer this on-demand program as Christian Greco, DO discusses Hepatitis C & Substance Use Disorders

Following completion of this program, attendees shall be able to:

  1. Understand the epidemiology and prevalence of Hepatitis C among individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), including the impact of injection drug use on transmission rates and the burden of co-occurring infections.
  2. Explore the complex relationship between substance use disorders and Hepatitis C, including risk factors for transmission, barriers to diagnosis and treatment, and the synergistic effects of substance use on liver disease progression.
  3. Discuss evidence-based strategies for the prevention, screening, diagnosis, and management of Hepatitis C among individuals with substance use disorders, including integrated care models, harm reduction approaches, and novel treatment modalities tailored to this population.

The WEST VIRGINIA OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION is accredited by the AOA to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  WVOMA designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and reports CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physicians participation in this activity.
