Description

Following the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the general principles and importance of lifestyle medicine.
  2. Define the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine.
  3. Identify strategies to help patients (and YOU) to improve aspects of lifestyle in each of the six pillars.

Priscilla Tu, DO - Dr. Tu, a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed a dually-accredited family medicine residency program at Carilion Clinic before returning to her alma mater, Duke University, to serve as the Primary Care Sports Medicine fellow.  She is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. After several years as faculty at Duke, she returned to the Virginia Tech Carilion Family Medicine Residency, where she is now the Associate Program Director as well as the Director of Osteopathic Education. She is an associate professor for the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and an assistant professor for the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Tu is a team physician for Northside High School, several area colleges, and USA Volleyball.

Accreditation Information

The Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association (VOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. VOMA designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1A CME credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.
