Description

Learning Objectives: 

1. At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to feel more confident in knowing
which imaging modality to order in a patient with a head and neck condition.
2. Also, the physician should be able to know the role of imaging in common head and neck
conditions.
3. This session should enhance physicians’ ability to select the most appropriate head and neck
imaging modalities based on clinical presentation and osteopathic principles, ensuring
accurate diagnosis, minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure, and optimizing patient centered
care.

Accreditation Statement

This educational presentation was developed according to the planning, design, implementation and evaluation standards of the accreditation requirements for category 1 CME sponsors of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).  The Indiana Osteopathic Association (IOA) is accredited by the AOA to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

The AAFP has reviewed 2025 Virtual Annual Spring Update - Enduring and deemed it acceptable for up to 18.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 05/18/2025 to 05/17/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Katie Traylor, D.O. Related Seminars and Products


Katie Traylor, DO, is a dually boarded physician with the American Board of
Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of Radiology. She holds a
Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. Dr. Traylor completed
residencies in nuclear medicine and diagnostic radiology, followed by
fellowships in Neuroradiology and Head and Neck Oncology Imaging. She is
the Director of Head and Neck Imaging at UPMC and an Associate Professor
at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. With expertise in
advanced imaging techniques, she specializes in the diagnosis and
management of complex head and neck pathologies. Dr. Traylor is actively
involved in education, research, and multidisciplinary collaborations,
contributing to advancements in neuroradiology and oncologic imaging.
