  • Identify resources for staying up to date on clinical topics

Originally from Slidell, LA, Richard C. Calderone, DO, MPH performed his undergraduate studies at Southeastern Louisiana University.  He earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from William Carey University, as well as a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He is a graduate of the inaugural class of William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a National Health Service Corps Scholar.  Dr. Calderone completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The University of Mississippi Medical Center and received additional certifications in Hypertension and HIV Medicine. He is currently a fellow in the Population Health Training in Place Program, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Preventive Medicine” program.  Dr. Calderone is the secretary of the board of directors for the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association and for the South Mississippi Medical Society.  He serves as a full-time faculty member for the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, where he is also the medical director of the FGH Preoperative Clinic.
