Description

Learning Objectives:

- Understand how the kidney became the focus of understanding hypertension
- Understand the various neuroendocrine mechanisms involved in hypertension
- Understand the concept of salt sensitivity
- Understand how the kidney adapts to decreased renal mass and function

The Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Mark Baldwin is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Pacific Northwest University in Yakima, WA. He received his D.O. from Kansas City University and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital/Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, and fellowship in nephrology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He is certified in both internal medicine and nephrology.
