Management of Anomalous Coronary Arteries

This session will provide a comprehensive literature review of current consensus on managing coronary anomalies following a case presentation.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Teach the different types of coronary anomalies
  2. Understand which anomalies are benign and require intervention
  3. Understand medical management of the disease


Human Trafficking: Training for Healthcare Professionals (HUMAN TRAFFICKING)

This session will provide an in-depth overview of what human trafficking is, how to differentiate human trafficking from human smuggling and consensual commercial sex. In addition, the speaker will explain the scope of the problem, provide insight on how to recognize vulnerabilities, risk factors, and indicators. Finally, the speaker will provide detail on how healthcare providers can apply patient-centered interventions.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Differentiate human trafficking from human smuggling and consensual commercial sex
  2. Recognize vulnerabilities, risk factors, and indicators of human trafficking
  3. Apply patient-centered interventions and strategies for healthcare providers.

Statement of Accreditation
The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. TOMA designates is program for a maximum of 2 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Devin Haney D.O. is a second year Internal medicine resident at UT Tyler. He is a Texas native growing up in North East San Antonio. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Mary’s University. He completed medical school at NOVA Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Muriel Lanford, MSN, RN, TCRN's Profile

Muriel Lanford, MSN, RN, TCRN Related Seminars and Products


Muriel Lanford, a board-certified trauma nurse, holds both baccalaureate and master's degrees in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and has practiced at multiple trauma centers across the country.

Ms. Lanford served 10 years as Trauma Program and Emergency Preparedness Director for a large healthcare system in Texas. After consulting for several private healthcare corporations, she subsequently worked as a professional speaker, educating healthcare staff around the country on all aspects of trauma care.

Ms. Lanford’s volunteer efforts focus on educating healthcare colleagues about human trafficking, and training various clinical and non-clinical groups on the effects of trauma on the brain. She currently works with Ransomed Life Texas, a San Antonio-based non-profit, anti-trafficking organization.
