Description

This session is structured to enhance physician competence by improving knowledge of validated assessment tools, differential diagnosis, and the practical implementation of CBT-I and other non-pharmacological strategies. By equipping the physician with a comprehensive understanding of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options, they will be better equipped to manage insomnia safely and effectively.

Objectives:

  • Review the definition of insomnia including epidemiology and pathophysiology
  • Discuss assessment tools for insomnia and other differential diagnosis
  • Explore non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatment options

 

Statement of Accreditation

The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. TOMA designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Dr. Khanh Truong, DO Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Khanh Truong was born in Danang, Vietnam, and moved to Dallas, Texas, at the age of 15. He earned a triple major in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics from Texas A&M University - Commerce, followed by a Master’s degree in Chemistry. Dr. Truong attended Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York and completed his Family Medicine residency, serving as Chief Resident, at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he also completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine.He has been recognized in the Texas Academy of Family Physicians (TAFP) Resident Member Spotlight and participated in the TAFP Resident Leadership Experience. His research interests include health equity, and he is a proud member of both the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Truong enjoys exploring new restaurants and discovering diverse cuisines as a true foodie.
