Description

During this interactive presentation, attendees will be invited to examine microaggressions in the professional setting. Attendees will discuss personal experiences of microaggressions and/or witnessed microaggressions in the clinic setting, meetings, or personal interactions. Attendees will be educated to identify and mitigate microaggressions in the professional environment.

Objectives:

  • Identify the use of microaggressions in communication
  • Examine the consequences of microaggression use in communication
  • Adapt microaggression mitigation techniques to improve relationships and communication

Statement of Accreditation
The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. TOMA designates is program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
