Dr. Stephanie Aldret is a graduate of Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, OK.  She completed an Internship and Residency in Family Medicine at Oklahoma State University as well as a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Blacksburg, VA, where she served as one of the team physicians for Virginia Tech and Radford University.  She is board certified in Family Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and Sports Medicine by the AOBFP.  She is the Co-Chair and Associate Professor for Family Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and Sports Medicine at VCOM-Louisiana. She serves as one of the team physicians for the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Grambling State University, and USA Gymnastics-Trampoline and Tumbling and is part of the volunteer medical pool for USA Wrestling and USA Figure Skating.  She has also provided medical care for the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games, 2019 Para-Pan American Games, 2020ne Summer Paralympic Games, 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, Oklahoma Endeavor Games, Oklahoma Special Olympics, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, roller derby, rodeo, hockey (professional and junior hockey), and professional baseball.  Dr Aldret currently serves on the EPIC Advisory Committee, the ACOFP Family Medicine Chairs Committee, the ACOFP OMTeaching Task Force, is a Past-President of the Louisiana Osteopathic Medical Association, a Louisiana delegate to the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates, and a member of the Rules Committee for the United Federation of Osteopathic Societies.

John K. Smith, PhD is a native of Jackson, MS. He graduated from Boston College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. He earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. He has published in multiple peer reviewed journals and has been the recipient of several awards including The Charles Randall Research Award and The American Association for Cancer Research Minority Scholar in Cancer Research Award. Dr. Smith completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. His research interests include the role of Janus Kinase (JAK) signaling in tumorigenesis, and insulin-like growth factor receptor involvement in tumor development and progression. 

Dr. Smith joined the faculty at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) in 2011 as a Professor of Pre-clinical Sciences (Pharmacology). He was awarded Best Science Professor in 2011 and 2012 and co-awarded this same distinction in 2013. In 2022, he accepted the position of Assistant Dean for Student A?airs. He is responsible for the recruitment of eligible applicants and formulating policies directly related to WCUCOM admissions and student services. Dr. Smith lives in Hattiesburg, MS with his wife and child.

BIO: Dr. Seger Morris earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine after a non-traditional path to becoming a physician. With a Bachelor of Science in Investment Finance, MBA in Strategic Management, and years of experience in business management, and leadership prior to entering medical school, the business and policy of healthcare was top of mind throughout his training. During residency training at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS, he served as Chief Resident, completed a Health Policy Fellowship sponsored by the American Osteopathic Association, and served on the board of directors for MOMA among many other hospital and medical society committees. Following residency, he served as the Executive Director of Magnolia Regional Community Care Clinic and as an Associate Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at MRHC in Corinth, MS.   Dr. Morris is now the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Baptist Health Systems in Oxford, MS.  He also serves as a Regional Assistant Dean and the Director of Health Policy Programs for the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Morris is the current MOMA President.

BIO: Dr. Italo Subbarao is a leader in domestic and international disaster response and has provided field and technical support during large-scale emergencies like earthquakes in Haiti and Pakistan, shootings in Mumbai, and hurricanes like Katrina – which brought about his first visit to Mississippi in 2005.  Seven years later, having worked as an emergency room physician and disaster fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of Public Health Readiness for the American Medical Association, Dr. Subbarao arrived in Hattiesburg.
Dr. Subbarao joined the WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012, serving as associate professor of clinical sciences and Associate Dean.  Later, he moved into the role of Senior Associate Dean, and in 2019 became the Dean of WCUCOM.  Dr. Subbarao serves on the board of directors for many state and national organizations, including the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association.

Dr. David B. Roy received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from NOVA Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His Traditional Rotating Internship was completed at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, OH via Ohio University.  Dr. Roy completed a Fellowship in Clinical Dermatology and Research in Dayton, Ohio.  Dr. Roy completed his Dermatology Residency via Midwestern University in Phoenix, AZ during which time he served as chief resident.  He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, and is a fellow of the American Society for MOHS Surgery.  Professional memberships include American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Osteopathic Association, American Society for MOHS surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.  Dr. Roy performed MOHS surgery in Scottsdale, AZ and Yuma, AZ for two years, specializing in large and aggressive tumors of the head and neck.

J. Mark Bailey, DO, PhD is a native Mississippian who attended Millsaps College as an undergraduate and the University of MS Medical Center for his PhD in Anatomy.  He attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona California and afterwards relocated to Birmingham Alabama for internship and residency.  Dr. Bailey was in private practice for 13 years and is now Professor of Neurology and Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).  He is board certified in both Neurology and Pain. Dr. Bailey is a past president of the Alabama Osteopathic Medical Association.  He is President-elect and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists.  Dr. Bailey participated in the creation of the Osteopathic Pain Medicine Boards and serves as the AOA advisor to the AMA CPT committee.  He is the AOA representative to the Federation of State Medical Boards Opioid Task Force as well as the American Academy of Neurology representative to the AMA Opioid Task Force.

Dr. Lovins started working in hospitals in La Mesa, California in 1971 as an orderly. He then trained as an EMT as was eligible to sit the first ever NREMT exam. He subsequently trained as a deiner and has assisted in nearly 250 autopsies. He received his BA in biochemistry from Bethel College in 1978 and was the first ever student accepted to a DO school from his college. He graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, Missouri in 1983 and trained in family medicine at the Naval Hospital, Pensacola, FL. He did a Faculty Development and Research Fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA and earned a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA in 1992. Dr. Lovins practiced full-scope family medicine in environments ranging from academic medical centers to 19–bed hospitals in rural America. Dr. Lovins considers his best practice location to be the USS Tortuga, LSD 46 when it was underway for a Mediterranean deployment. He retired from the United States Navy in 2005 after twenty-six years of duty. He then pursued an academic career as a professor of medicine and held several administrative positions, including Dean, William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Lovins served on the American Osteopathic Association’s Committee and Council for Post-doctoral training for twenty years where he fought AOA injustices toward military DOs. Dr. Lovins has studied and played the great highland bagpipes for over twenty years and competes throughout the southeast. He, with his bride of forty-nine years, retired to the Chattanooga area to be near his children and grandchildren.

BIO: Dr. Seth B. Ladd completed his medical training at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in its inaugural class of 2014.  Dr. Ladd then went on to complete a general surgery residency program at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY.  Dr. Ladd took a year during his residency to complete a fellowship in Burn and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.  Dr. Ladd completed his residency training in 2020 and returned home to Laurel, MS as a general surgeon at South Central Regional Medical Center where he teaches medical students from WCUCOM.  Dr. Ladd’s current surgical interests are acute care general surgery, robotic surgery, and burn and wound care.

Dr. Joseph Nosser is originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with William Carey University School of Pharmacy. He currently practices as a clinical pharmacist with the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2019. He also completed a PGY-1 community-based pharmacy residency from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2020. Dr. Nosser is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and a Board-Certified Medication Therapy Management Specialist (BCMTMS) through the National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM).

He currently serves as the President-Elect for the Mississippi College of Clinical Pharmacy (MCCP) in the 2025 calendar year. He is the founder and chief executive officer of RX Wellness Clinical Solutions, LLC, an independent pharmacy consulting firm, which helps local independent pharmacies in southeast Mississippi to implement clinical services and to improve patients’ medication adherence. His professional interests include ambulatory care pharmacy, pharmacist-led clinical services (i.e., continuous glucose monitoring), and precepting future generations of student pharmacists in Mississippi.

Originally from Slidell, LA, Richard C. Calderone, DO, MPH performed his undergraduate studies at Southeastern Louisiana University.  He earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from William Carey University, as well as a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He is a graduate of the inaugural class of William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a National Health Service Corps Scholar.  Dr. Calderone completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The University of Mississippi Medical Center and received additional certifications in Hypertension and HIV Medicine. He is currently a fellow in the Population Health Training in Place Program, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Preventive Medicine” program.  Dr. Calderone is the secretary of the board of directors for the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association and for the South Mississippi Medical Society.  He serves as a full-time faculty member for the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, where he is also the medical director of the FGH Preoperative Clinic.

Dr. (Maj) Ryan Anderson, DO is an emergency medicine physician in Biloxi, MS. He is a Major in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base where he serves as flight commander and lead physician of the emergency department.  He also works part time at Singing River Gulfport and Highland Community Hospital to help serve the local community. He was recently named Director of Ultrasound at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has developed a revolutionary ultrasound credentialing platform for all graduating medical students.  He is also Founder and CEO of Conquering The Boards which offers personalized study schedules for medical students to help them successfully navigate studying for their licensing exams while still balancing their core curriculum.  He is a local resident of Biloxi, MS, is happily married to his wife, Alli, who is an ER nurse, and has three children - Arya, Adam, and Ella.

Paula Province Warren, MD is a neurologist and the founder of The Headache Specialists. She is board certified in neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and she is licensed through the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure and the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners and Medical Licensure Commission. She has more than 10 years of experience treating migraine and other headache disorders. 

Dr. Warren’s areas of interest include headaches, epilepsy, and neuro-oncology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Headache Society, and Society for Neuro-Oncology.

Dr. Warren received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Birmingham, Alabama. She completed her residence in neurology at UAB, where she also completed a neuro-oncology fellowship. 

Dr. Warren lives on the MS Gulf Coast with her husband and 2 children.  Outside of work she enjoys reading, exercise, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Carissa Rosten, DO graduated from PCOM Georgia in 2020 after receiving the “Excellence in Osteopathic Medicine” award.  She completed a transitional year following graduation, followed by residency in neuromuscular medicine in New Mexico where she served as chief resident in 2023.  Following graduation, she accepted a position at WCUCOM as an Assistant Professor of OMM.  She has a husband and is mother to two precious boys.

Robert G.G. Piccinini, DO Related Seminars and Products

On July 21, 2024, Robert G.G. Piccinini, DO, D.FACN, was elected to serve as the 2024-25 President-elect of the American Osteopathic Association. He is the first psychiatrist in AOA history to achieve this honor and is the first graduate of MSUCOM. Dr. Piccinini is an AOA board-certified osteopathic psychiatrist in private practice.  
Outside of his involvement with the AOA, Dr. Piccinini is the past president of the Michigan Osteopathic Association. He also is past president of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists, the Macomb County Osteopathic Medical Association and the Michigan Osteopathic Service Corporation. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a plant physician and profiler.  

Dr. Piccinini completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he was tasked with treating patients in the maximum-security unit. He received the Distinguished Fellow award from the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists in 2007. He was the youngest member of the specialty college to receive this honor. Dr. Piccinini has given numerous presentations on domestic violence, violence in the workplace and physician wellness.  
Dr. Piccinini earned his osteopathic medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing. He completed an internship at Genesys Regional Medical Center followed by residency training at Henry Ford Health Systems. He also studied Geriatrics at the University of Rome, Italy.  
Outside of his medical career Dr. Piccinini has cultivated his passion for cooking and smoking into “Dr. Bob’s BBQ”.
