Description

Physicians will encounter office emergencies at some time in their practice. Appropriate risk assessment, planning and preparedness will allow the provision of high-quality care, safety for staff members, the best patient outcomes, and the reward of having managed a time-sensitive problem in an efficient and effective manner.

At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss common adult office emergencies and their management
  • Describe emergency preparedness planning
  • Provide, where able, real-world experience with office emergencies and their management

Christine M. Rohanna, DO, FAAFP, “Office Emergencies: Anyone, Anything, Anytime,” is a board certified family physician at Conemaugh Physician Group, St. Benedict Rural Health Center in Carrolltown, Pennsylvania. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and a 2008 graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), she completed an internship and family medicine residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Rohanna is a board member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society and a member of POMA, the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
