Dr. Prom received his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 and completed a Family Medicine residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in 2009. Dr. Prom continued his osteopathic training by completing an OMM/NMM +1 fellowship at UMDNJ-SOM in Stratford, New Jersey in 2010 and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Virginia Tech/VCOM in 2011.

Dr. Prom is the owner of Tidewater Sports & Osteopathic Medicine in Chesapeake, Virginia and specializes in OMT, Sports Medicine and Regenerative Medicine. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Prom is a clinical faculty member at VCOM, Liberty College of Osteopathic Medicine, VCU/Riverside Family Medicine, and EVMS Family Medicine.

Jason M. McHugh, DO, CAQSM is board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulation with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Primary Care Sports Medicine from the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He received his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Michigan in Flint, Mich. He earned a doctoral degree in osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Mich., and completed a residency in family medicine at the Genesys Regional Medical Center. Dr. McHugh did his fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital in East Lansing.

Dr. McHugh currently serves as a medical director for Bon Secours Sports Medicine and In Motion Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. His duties include providing care and event coverage to local high school athletes as well as providing medical coverage and oversight to local mass participation events in the Hampton Roads area.

Accreditation Information

The Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association (VOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. VOMA designates this program for a maximum of 2 AOA Category category of credits 1A CME credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.
