COVID management is an evolving area of clinical practice. The osteopathic profession's uniquely superior track record in caring for patient's when no one else can puts the responsibility on us to ensure our patients get the very best chance of survival and return to health. Many in our profession have not been utilizing even the most basic manual skills to serve our patient population to our most full potential.

Accreditation Statement: The Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (POMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. POMA designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 Category 1-A AOA CME credits and will report CME and specialty credits to the AOA commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Kevin A. Thomas, DO, MS, “OMM Workshop,” is a member of the education committee for the POMA District VIII 35th Annual Educational Winter Seminar. Board certified in family medicine/osteopathic manipulative treatment and neuromusculoskeletal medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine, Dr. Thomas is course director of osteopathic principles and practices at LECOM at Seton Hill in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University in State College and a 1998 graduate of LECOM, where he also earned a masters in education. He completed an internship at UPMC Horizon in Farrell, Pennsylvania, and a family medicine residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr. Thomas is a member of POMA, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society, the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Academy of Osteopathy and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
