First presented at the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association's 2022 Virtual Mid year Seminar. FOMA is proud to offer this on-demand CME program. Samantha Cotler, DO, MBA discusses and demonstrates prevention of neck pain and headaches in adults.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Evaluate the evidence surrounding the user of manipulative medicine compared to pharmacologic treatments for chronic neck pain, as well as the prevention and treatment of headaches in adults.
  2. Explain the techniques involved in osteopathic manual manipulation for treating neck pain
  3. Demonstrate OMM techniques.
  4. Discuss the evidence surrounding the use of cranial osteopathic manipulative medicine.
  5. Review documentation, and billing coding for osteopathic manipulation treatment.

Samantha Cotler, DO, MBA received her DO degree from Rowan University School of Medicine in 2015. She completed her Integrated Family Medicine/Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Residency at AdventHealth Florida Hospital East Orlando (AHEO), where she was chief resident. Currently, Dr. Cotler is medical director for AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at East Orlando in Orlando, Florida. She is also core faculty for the Family Medicine Residency program at East Orlando. Prior to moving to Florida, she worked as an attending physician at Cotler Family Practice in Wall, NJ. Dr. Cotler is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) and by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (AOBNMM). Dr. Cotler has been involved at both the state and national level as a presenter, peer reviewer, and council and board member with the AOA, ACOFP, AOBFP, AAO, FSACOFP and with AdventHealth Florida Hospital Graduate Medical Education. Currently, she volunteers with Shepherd’s Hope Free Clinic and with RunDisney Races for Walt Disney World both in Orlando, Florida.
