Description

Learning Objectives: 

1. Describe background information about Opioid Use Disorder including neurobiology,
epidemiology, and common co-morbid conditions.
2. Explain how to diagnose Opioid Use Disorder, Opioid Intoxication, and Opioid Withdrawal.
3. Develop treatment plan options for a patient with Opioid Use Disorder.

Accreditation Statement

This educational presentation was developed according to the planning, design, implementation and evaluation standards of the accreditation requirements for category 1 CME sponsors of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).  The Indiana Osteopathic Association (IOA) is accredited by the AOA to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

The AAFP has reviewed 2025 Virtual Annual Spring Update - Enduring and deemed it acceptable for up to 18.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 05/18/2025 to 05/17/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Dr. Gretchen Cheuk-Wing Johnson is originally from Baldwin, New York. She
practices addiction medicine at Community Fairbanks Recovery Center in
Indianapolis, IN. She is passionate about providing compassionate care for
patients and their support systems, and about training the next generation of
physicians. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband
and their three sons.
